CONTRACTING VEHICLES
WSI is a member of the Research Triangle Institute (RTI) consortium for two contracting vehicles that allow the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to contract with us quickly through a simplified procurement process. The members of the consortium provide USAID with rapid-response, short-term (up to 6 months), medium-term (up to 1 year), and long-term (multiple years) advisory services, technical expertise, assistance, and training. Decentralization, Democratization, and Local Governance

The overarching aims of this IQC are to increase participatory decision making, transparency, accountability and responsiveness at all levels of government; to increase citizen participation in decision-making; to increase capacity and efficacy of local governments in national decision making processes; to enhance fiscal adequacy and probity; to enable local government to promote and sustain local economic development; and to increase the capacity and performance of all levels of government and NGOs to execute public management functions. As a member of the RTI consortium, WSI has primary responsibility in the areas of enhancing local governance and citizen participation while stimulating economic growth and employment through WSI's Integrated Community Development Program.
Sustainable Urban Management II

The purpose of this IQC is to expand equitable delivery of urban services and shelter; to enhance effectiveness, responsibility, and accountability of local government organizations; to enhance environmental management practices, pollution control systems, and tools; to improve disaster preparedness, response, and recovery through mitigation, strategic planning, training, hazard identification, and awareness; and to improve finance and credit systems through program design and technical support. As a member of the RTI consortium, WSI has primary responsibility in the areas of local economic development and micro-credit.
